Westies are happy, non-aggressive little dogs that love to be with people and are good with strangers. When an owner welcomes their friends into a house, so too will a Westie.
Westies are perfect companions that love to travel and get out and about with their owners. They are an active breed that also enjoy a good run in the park. Because of their non-shedding coat Westies are suitable for people with allergies.
Training
Westies are intelligent dogs that are very quick to learn. Their intelligence is often underestimated because of their cute looks, which often leads to owners being trained by their Westie (rather than the other way around!). Grooming
Due to their wiry coat, Westies should not be bathed too often, although weekly brushing is recommended. If their owner does not maintain their coat, a professional groom once every 2-3 months is recommended.
