Temperament
Whilst loyal and loving these guys are more concerned with work than socialising. Kelpies need to be kept active and stimulated (they are capable of covering 60km per day) or they will become disruptive. Generally Kelpies are recommended for older owners but will be okay with children if they are introduced to them as a puppy.

Training
Training is essential for this alert, intelligent breed. Kelpies are always on the job and tend to round up other dogs and pets!

Grooming
True to their working class nature, Kelpies require very little maintenance.The do require a weekly shedding brush down, to ensure there is no unwanted hair around the home.
